Marilyn Freeman,
Owner
Marilyn Freeman, owner of Farmers Communications Exchange, has worked in the field of agricultural communications and marketing for over 40 years. She has led communications response efforts for some of the most critical issues impacting U.S. agriculture from pesticide residues and spray drift to foodborne illness outbreaks associated with leafy greens, cantaloupe and other produce items.
During her career, she’s worked with some of the best-known organizations and brands in agriculture including: the Alliance for Food and Farming, Blue Anchor, Inc., California Association of County Ag Commissioners and Sealers, California Department of Food and Agriculture, the California Leafy Greens Marketing Agreement, California Tree Fruit Agreement, Diamond Walnut, Sunsweet Growers and Sun-Maid. She has owned two public relations firms and currently leads the talented team of young marketing professionals at Farmers Communication Exchange. Her connections throughout U.S. agriculture also provide clients with access to a wide network of experts.
Marilyn’s passion for sharing stories of food and farming began while attending the California Polytechnic Institute, San Luis Obispo where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Journalism. A native Californian, Marilyn lives in Lodi and enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, golf, wine, food and fun with friends and family.
